In a first-of-its-kind move, Shell and Google have signed a corporate Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to extend operations of the 108 MW NordzeeWind offshore wind farm until 2031.
✅ Originally built in 2007 off Egmond aan Zee, NordzeeWind is now set to deliver nearly five extra years of clean energy—thanks to its excellent condition and renewed government permits.
🔌 Google will use the power to run its Netherlands-based offices and data centers with 100% renewable energy.
📍 This is the first time a corporate PPA has been used to extend the life of an offshore wind farm—paving the way for sustainable asset optimization and long-term decarbonization.
