LS Cable & System, LS Marine Solution, Balmoral Comtec Join Forces in Renewable Energy Push

Post Date:

In a strategic move to accelerate the floating offshore wind power market, LS Cable & System and LS Marine Solution have signed an MOU with UK marine engineering specialist Balmoral Comtec.

With Korea’s first dynamic cables for floating wind already in place, and the selection of Equinor’s Firefly Project under new government policies, this partnership will focus on:
• Dynamic subsea cables and marine-optimized operating systems
• Buoyancy and protection systems for harsh offshore environments
• Efficient installation and long-term maintenance of floating wind infrastructure

Floating wind opens access to deeper waters and stronger wind resources—critical for scaling clean energy capacity. With global floating wind projected to jump from 35GW in 2020 to 270GW by 2030, this collaboration is a timely step forward.

Exciting times for the blue economy and the future of renewable energy infrastructure!!
