Berlin-based renewable developer Q Energy has secured €50.4 million in financing for a 74.3 MW floating solar plant in northeastern France, making it Europe’s largest floating solar project. The plant, which is under construction at a former quarry site, will feature 134,649 solar modules mounted on floats, covering 127 hectares. Once operational, it will provide clean electricity to approximately 37,000 residents. The project is expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2025.
