The Centre for Marine Socioecology (CMS, https://marinesocioecology.org/), CSIRO and IMAS are local hosts of a large international summit underway May 18-21 called ‘Ocean Solutions’ (https://www.oceanvisions.org/summit-2021). In addition to an exciting online program that can be accessed for free (with most talks and discussions recorded so you can tune in at your leisure, regardless of time zone), here in Hobart we are hosting two in person sessions at the IMAS Salamanca building:
Thu., 20 May 2021, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm AEST (FREE lunch at 12.30 beforehand) Facilitating human wellbeing of marine communities in a conflicted world and
Fri., 21 May 2021, 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm AEST (FREE lunch at 11.30 beforehand) Ocean solutions: what is needed for success in Tasmania?
Attendance at these is also free BUT registration at the link above is essential due to COVID restrictions and catering needs.
Some additional information about the exciting keynote and panel speakers is given below, and please note the sessions have been designed with the aim of maximising Q & A and discussion time, so we are looking forward to highly interactive sessions where we can discuss the myriad of ways our oceans and coasts are critical for the well-being of Tasmanian’s, and what exactly is needed for successful ocean solutions in our particular local context.
Hope to see you in Hobart on May 20 or 21!
