Foo Nan Cho

Foo Nan Cho is a Senior Lecturer, Specialist (Marine Structure and Design) in the Singapore Maritime Academy, Singapore Polytechnic where his main areas of teaching include marine engineering, maritime superintendency, ship construction and naval architecture. His areas of specialities include renewable energy, IGF Code, 3D printing, hybrid power smart grid, resource management and small team leardership.

Graduated from Singapore Polytechnic in 1984 with Tech Diploma in Marine Engineering, he went on to join A.P. Moller Singapore, working through the ranks to Chief Engineer and was put on board all ship types under A. P. Moller Singapore fleet – bulk, product, car, containers. He then join Renaissance Cruises as Technical Manager from 1994 to 2000. During this period, he lead the team to set up Safety Management System for the fleet of cruise ships and successful upgrade the fire safety systems and help to set up GMDSS to meet 1997 SOLAS requirements.

He obtained MBA with Leicester University in 2000 and joined his Alma Mater in the same year.

Nan Cho is a Harmonica player and open water dive master. He also listen to classical music and do photography during his free time.
