Space Florida to fund ocean-based space launch company, other secretive projects

According to recent reports from the Orlando Sentinel, the state-backed aerospace agency Space Florida has officially approved strategic funding for a novel ocean-based space launch company, alongside a slate of other highly classified aerospace projects.

🔹 Project Manta: Space Florida is backing St. Petersburg-based startup Seagate Space to prototype a mobile, offshore launch platform at Port Tampa Bay.

🔹 Secretive Expansions: Beyond offshore launches, Space Florida continues to aggressively expand its aerospace footprint, greenlighting several “secret” multi-million-dollar deals (codenamed projects like Sabal and Odyssey) to attract high-volume manufacturing and advanced tech to the state.
