EPC Contract Awarded for World’s Largest Floating LNG Facility in Mexico

Post Date:

AMIGO LNG, a Mexico-based joint venture between Epcilon LNG and Singapore’s LNG Alliance, has awarded the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for the world’s largest floating LNG (FLNG) facility to Dubai’s Drydocks World. The facility will feature a production capacity exceeding 4.2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) and include Floating Storage Units (FSUs) to support LNG export operations.

The project will be fabricated at Drydocks World’s Dubai shipyard and integrate advanced US-based pre-treatment and liquefaction technologies, improving efficiency and environmental performance. The AMIGO LNG terminal, located at Guaymas on Mexico’s West Coast, will source feed gas from the US Permian Basin to supply LNG to Asia and Latin America.

Simultaneous offshore fabrication and onshore preparation are expected to accelerate time-to-market, offering a faster, cost-efficient, and environmentally beneficial alternative to traditional onshore LNG plants.
