Floating Solar: Asia-Pacific Leads the Way!

Post Date:

At the Society of Floating Solutions Singapore, we’re thrilled to see floating solar PV transforming the global energy landscape. By 2033, global capacity is projected to reach 77 GW, with 57 GWdc coming from Asia-Pacific. Leading the charge are India, China, and Indonesia, demonstrating the region’s vital role in the clean energy transition.

One of the most exciting developments comes from Hexa Renewables, a Singapore-based company, which has just commissioned the world’s largest offshore floating solar farm in Taiwan. This 440 MW project, spanning 347 hectares, powers 74,000 homes and highlights the innovation and potential of floating solar technology. It also supports Taiwan’s ambitious renewable energy goals of 20 GW by 2030 and net zero by 2050.

Floating solar is unlocking new possibilities, from hybrid systems in reservoirs to large-scale offshore applications, making it a key driver in achieving sustainable energy solutions.

🚀 Let’s celebrate these advancements and continue leading the conversation on scalable, innovative floating solutions for a cleaner, brighter future! 🌍✨
